Mother’s Day

  • Northwest African American Museum 2300 South Massachusetts Street Seattle, WA, 98144 United States (map)

Today, we honor the love, labor, and legacy of Black mothers—the caretakers, nurturers, leaders, and culture bearers who hold generations together with grace and strength.

As a small gesture of gratitude, we’ll be giving away free copies of Tricia Hersey’s powerful book Rest is Resistance to celebrate the radical act of rest, healing, and restoration—especially for the mothers who so often carry it all. Books will be available on-site while supplies last.

To all the mamas, aunties, grandmothers, bonus moms, and mother figures in our community: thank you for everything you give. Today, we celebrate you.
