NAAM offers a variety of enriching, mission aligned, public programs that explore the arts, histories, and cultures of people of African descent. Do you have an idea about a potential program you would like to see at NAAM?
The window for accepting program proposals for 2017 has now closed. If you are interested in submitting a program idea for the 2018 program calendar, the proposal form will be available in January of 2017.
Criteria: • Programs must explore the arts, histories, cultures, and/or contemporary issues of people of African descent • Applicants can be groups, individuals, non-profit organizations, or for-profit businesses • Program does not support a political party • Program is produced jointly with applicant and NAAM staff.
If your program proposal is selected for implementation, these are the types of support NAAM may provide: • Usage of NAAM’s facilities • Marketing and promotional support • Staff member advisor • NAAM does not provide direct funding for proposed events.
Additional Information: • NAAM will consider all proposals from individuals and organizations regardless of race, gender, sex, class, or other identities and affiliations • Programs must be public learning opportunities that are open to people regardless of race, gender, sex, class, or other identities and affiliations • Programs may have age restrictions for reasons related to content. • Applicants will be notified of the proposal status via email. Programs Proposal forms that are declined for 2016 calendar year may be retained for potential use in future.
