To celebrate Family History Month, NAAM will host a reading of “When Owing a Schilling Costs a Dollar” by Dr. Carver Clark Gayton. Gayton tells the riveting story of his great – grandfather, Lewis G. Clarke; a former slave and leader in the anti-slavery movement. Dr. Gayton will read from the book and will talk about his family history journey to tell Lewis G. Clark’s story.
